Lung Cancer is one of the deadliest and top most cancer in Bangladesh. About 16.6% of the total cancer is estimated to be lung cancer among all genders. There are very few study available on Bangladeshi people. Lung Cancer BD has been founded to conduct clinical and molecular research on lung cancer patient and find out the ethnic variations on response of different mutation and treatment modalities.
Though a nationwide cancer statistics is not available in Bangladesh but some partial data are available. According to cancer registry published in 2017 by NICRH (National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital) 16.6% of total cancer was lung cancer in both gender.
Lung Cancer is predominantly found in male patient in Bangladesh. Around 28% of the total cancer detected in male are found to be diagnosed with Lung Cancer.
